Obama announced in his weekly radio address that Virginia Technology Secretary Aneesh Chopra would become the nation's first chief technology officer.

BusinessWeek: CTO Search Narrows

BusinessWeek reports that the front-runners to be the nation's first chief technology officer are Padmasree Warrior and Vivek Kundra. Warrior is CTO of Cisco Systems, and Kundra holds the same position with Washington, D.C. city government. A pick is expected "in a matter of days," the report says.
