Obama Reiterates Promise After Officials' Remarks
Obama was forced to reiterate his promise not to raise taxes for families making less than $250,000, one day after Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and National Economic Council Director Lawrence Summers suggested in separate Sunday talk-show interviews that tax hikes might be on the table. "The president made a commitment in the campaign. He's clear about that commitment, and he's going to keep it," White House press secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters. |
